Turbine House
Turbine House is a unique riverside cottage in Reeth with a truly remarkable past. This compact yet beautifully restored retreat once played a vital role in village life – generating electricity for Reeth in the early 1900s. It was part of a small industrial complex built by my great-great-grandfather after he bought the local corn mill and constructed Askrigg House and the Electric Supply Station in 1910.
Today, Turbine House retains many original features, including remnants of the old turbine pulley system, while offering peaceful accommodation for four people. With direct access to riverside walks and a tranquil garden, it’s ideal for couples seeking both heritage and seclusion in the Yorkshire Dales.
